42. What is unique about VRAcademi?

VRAcademi started as a collaborative collateral where the founding directors saw a gap in the current education system to impart science and art knowledge to children. While technology has been used extensively in the recent past to enhance art, some technology developers and artists are unable to understand the symbiotic relationship which exists between the two subjects and how they can be used together to enhance creativity. Another focus in the recent past has been on importing the knowledge of coding to children rather than building up creativity and inquisitiveness towards understanding and discovering art.

Our CEOs personal journey started with development of VRAcademi with a strong need to do something for his own child who was undergoing chemotherapy treatment and was isolated due to COVID lockdowns. The VR technology was an essential tool that he discovered could be used to liberate and free the young minds. If experiencing VR was so great how amazing it must be to create it? What would be the impact if instead of just experiencing virtual reality, children could actually create their own content in virtual reality. These questions lead to the birth of VRAcademi.

44. How are VRAcademi classes conducted? In which Age group am I going to learn?

VRAcademi classes are conducted online in small diverse groups. We do not deliver one to one sessions at the moment. Some of the activities require students to work in group sessions. The courses have been created based on children’s age group and competencies. Normally children below 13 form one category and children between the age of 13 to 18 from another category. While there is no direct role for learning based on age only, many software such as 3D studio max recommends the user to be greater than 13 years old. VR hardware manufacturers such as Oculus also recommend the user to be 13 years old or greater. Hence we have created and designed our curriculum and form groups for children less than 13 years old and greater than 13 years old.

Of course, a child with special learning needs who may be more than 13 years old can choose to do a course for children under 13 years of age. Even an adult may like to pick up a course which is for less than 13 years of age. We do not stop children or adults from selecting the type of course. However due to child protection policy of the company, students over the age of 18 years are never mixed with students less than 18 years of age. Based on your course selection you may be mixed and matched in a diverse group representing various nationalities, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

45. How are student form groups created?
